In late 2014 I completed an academic study in conjunction with a business masters degree through the University of Leicester in the UK. The title of the thesis was "Conscious Human Intention in the Workplace" and it focused on the theories surrounding our abilities as humans to energetically influence the world around us, including how it might relate to process improvements in organizations.
As a a part of the study, Canadian employees across Canada were asked to take a survey about the experiences they had involving their last workplace improvement initiative. The invitation was sent to project managers, quality professionals, LEAN and Six Sigma practitioners, and Change Management professionals through member associations and other organizations within those communities of practice.

Although the survey results did not provide a conclusive answer to the questions put forward by the thesis, the journey to completing the study revealed some extraordinary insights into human intention and future research into its use in the workplace. The most surprising insight was just how parallel in growth to the mind altering theories of quantum physics other disciplines were, including the studies of philosophy, social sciences, biology, and management theories and practices. Even W. Edwards Deming, the most respected quality management guru of the 20th century, was a proponent of these emerging theories at the end of his long life through his seminal work, The System of Profound Knowledge. Other research referenced in this study showed the results of human intention at work, including its use in statistically altering crime cycles, and the findings that placebo results in a medical study activated a different section of brain activity than normally expected.
